Showering Pots

Off to Islington, to visit my grandson Hendricks ( 20 mths), who lives on a canal boat near to Broadway Market. We went on a totter to visit the N1 Garden Centre, on Englefield Road, which is definitely destination if you are looking for anything in the houseplant department. They have an incredible pot section and an inspiring collection of indoor stuff. We came away with a small vase, with a finish that looked akin to rough coral, and a cheery green leafy something. I never know the names of any indoor plants, apart from the very obvious ones like rubber. Anyway it looks ( at the moment) bristling with health and is making a statement in the newly painted shower room. The new colour is to my mind ocre, but the paint chart calls it ‘yellow-pink’. There is absolutely not a hint of pink, so I don’t know where they get it.

The sun came out, and I felt inspired to start tackling the small roof area in London. I cut down the dried flowers from a hydrangea that doesn’t mind pot confinement, and grows to impressive heights every year. The seed heads are now doing their bit making the small shelf look really rather thrilling. I think I will remodel the planting on the small roof this year. I am thinking ‘jungle’.
